Hello, We wanted to send you a proposal. Apologies if this email is reaching you while on vacation! For the last few years we have been thinking about and planning a group exhibition project. When we first started discussing we were interested in ways of collaborating, reciprocity, unfinished work and note-taking. These subjects have informed our process and will still be present, but in a less explicit way. (The project has changed form and direction due to covid and shifting needs/circumstances.) It feels important to us to prioritise making an interesting and fun exhibition with inspiring and varied works, rather than something that furthers a specific theme or concept, or proposes a research question. For us it is already enough to take thoughtful time with works and assemble them into a show. We believe there are not enough DIY exhibitions happening here, and definitely not enough group shows. It will be a group exhibition with 21 artists and writers from Finland and abroad, that we will organise in Turku in a 112-year old apartment. There’s the particularities of the space, its layers and its domesticity, all those years, and how the ghosts might make conversation with the works, offer some new readings, and perhaps ask you to spend a little longer here. Our plan is to have it open for three weeks in May 2023. The exhibition's working title is: their room washed with hot light. Eeva-Maija Pulkkinen & Iona Roisin
