My artistic doctoral project focuses on Finnish women composers from the 19th century onwards, from a pianist's perspective. The project consists of four concerts and two articles. In the concerts I research how women have used different musical forms, and who is considered a Finnish composer. I also search for ways to influence the relationship between the audience and the performer with subtle changes to the concert situation. In the articles I research Carita Holmström's songs and Laura Netzel's relationship to sonata form using experimental music analysis methods.
