Laes, Tuulikki

Tuulikki Laes holds a position as a University Researcher at the Research Institute and teaches and supervises as a casual lecturer at the MuTri doctoral school, Sibelius Academy. She is appointed the Academy Research Fellow by the Research Council of Finland (2023-2027). Laes has a doctoral degree in music education, and her research interests include, i.e., educational democracy, inclusion, policy, and systems thinking within (higher) music education. She serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Finnish Journal of Music Education. She is the Finnish Association of Arts Education Research Chair and a member of the Finnish Observatory of Arts and Cultural Education. Her recent research projects include “The Transformative Politics of Music Education in Ageing Society” (2019-22, Research Council of Finland), "ArsADAPT - Artists for Sustainable Future (2022-23, Wihuri Foundation), and “Performing the Political: Public Pedagogy in Higher Music Education” (2023-27, Research Council of Finland).
